Summary
This panel will address topics central to designing an evaluation of your REU Site.
Panelists will give an overview of evaluation design goals and strategies and will
share best practices for data collection, student/alumni tracking, and data analysis
as well as specific recommendations about assessment resources available to PIs to
support REU Site evaluation. Recent REU Site data and outcomes will also be presented,
including an analysis of the data collected through the CISE REU Site Common Application
and Evaluation Toolkit. Additionally, this session will provide an introduction to the
NSF Education and Training Application (ETAP), a new NSF-wide common application system,
and the support it offers for collecting data about applicants and participants.
