Breakout I: Planning for REU Site and Student Success

Summary

This session will introduce several breakouts that discuss issues central to preparing for REU Site and REU student success. Outcomes will include identification of best practices in preparing for students to arrive at your REU Site and preparing students for success in undergraduate research. PIs will convene for a 30-minute panel session following the breakouts that reports on the discussions across groups, with a review of burning questions and top tips for logistics, student recruiting and selection, cohort building, and tracking student outcomes.
